You were referring to loading games? You should have said so. In that case, sure. 0.5-1 second faster is not a huge improvement relative to how long a game might usually take to load, but I was referring to things such as opening apps or navigating around iOS.

Opening settings, the browser, YouTube, loading video, web sites, the camera, etc., was all indistinguishable. For nearly everything, performance is the same.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of burst mode? That's the one area other than games where I imagine the faster processor might actually make a difference.

Burst mode is not available on the Iphone 5 as far as I am aware. So no one will be able to do a comparison.

I have to try burst mode out. I slept like 11 hours from last night to this morning. Forgot all about that one.

Sweet! That's good news for me! I'm trying to resist the urge to upgrade.

I haven't really noticed a speed difference, and I have both the 5 and 5s side by side. There is maybe slightly less stutter, but things like opening spotlight still show a visible frame drop the first time. Nothing huge, but iOS 7 still has some creaky hinges that need optimization. Maybe 7.1 will be like snow leopard - new API's (Siri, Touch ID, etc.) and a ton of optimization.

Touch ID though is really nice, I used my passcode just now and it took forever in comparison. No home, swipe and 4 touches now just press home.

Also burst mode on the camera is awesome, the camera is just all around better than the 5.

As a test I just launched Asphalt 8 - iPhone 5 actually won with loading the app (Getting past the default screen, but that may have been because it was still in memory though.) 5s won in actual loading time, but only by about less than half a second.

I think we may see an actual difference once we start getting some heavier iOS apps which may happen when the iPad gets a 64 bit chip. Normal everyday tasks are only going to be milliseconds faster because they are limited by network/flash memory latency.

It has something like a burst mode lite. The iPhone 5 will now take successive photos by holding down the shutter button, but it doesn't the automatic selection tool that the 5S has. You have to go into your camera role and delete the pictures you don't want. I'm just wondering if the 5S snaps pictures at an appreciably faster rate when doing this (I assume it does).
