Your lecture is a little premature as the OP never once said he wasn't a developer.

No, he didn't. My reply was simply a reply to those talking about taking it to an Apple Store :) That wouldn't work out...

As it clearly states when downloading iOS 7 on Apple's developer portal:

Running iOS 7 when:
1) Not a developer
2) Using primary/everyday iPhone

Is just plain stupid. There's a reason it's a developer preview. It's not for being fancy and impress your friends with your iPhone running (a very buggy) iOS 7 beta. It's for developers to test their software to the new and updated API's to make it ready for iOS 7 when it is released to the public.

Sorry, but if you cannot get it into DFU and you are NOT a registered developer, you're out of luck.

How useful do you think a dead test device would be for a developer? Are you really suggesting that the phone knew it wasn't being developed for an took it's cyanide pill?

Read what I wrote.

If you run iOS 7 WITHOUT being a developer, you're out of luck at the Apple Store. IF you are a developer, you will have a good chance having it replaced.

English is not my primary language, so I might have expressed me wrong, as several have misunderstood what I really meant.

What language is your main one? we could find how to put a the iPhone into DFU mode, and then translate it over so you can understand better.

So we can pay for a developer account in order to get our phones replaced/fixed?

And how do you propose to translate the instructions? Especially if the OP's language is not widely spoken? And don't say Google translate; take a news article in a foreign language and run it through google translation and you'll see how bad it is.

I'm sure your partner will be delighted to find you offering their services on an Internet forum for free. :D

And, no matter how many languages your partner knows, there's always a chance that the OP's language isn't one of them.

We just like to help :) us Apple nuts have to stick together ;)

OP.

If you know your way around the inside of the phone,

Crack it open and disconnect the battery.
Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds (with the battery disconnected)
Reassemble the phone completely.
Plug it in Via usb to your computer.
Press power button.

If apple logo doesnt appear try entering DFU mode by

Pressing and holding the power and home button for 15 seconds
Release the power button but KEEP holding the home button for another 10 seconds.

Itunes should then see an Iphone in recovery mode.

awaken from the dead

I'm a registered developer using an iPhone 4 GSM.
The same happened to me and my boss (using iPhone5)
My boss' iPhone 5 was running after he had recharged it at home.
Before it wasn't even recharging. At least nothing was visible.

Yesterday my iPhone 4 was recharging overnight and was dead in the morning.
Nothing helped. No reaction.
I was pressing the two buttons in every possible manner (desperately) and suddenly after I have connected it on the Mac I'm syncing with, it started restoring to 6.1.3 back again.

Why exactly do you have it on your phone? Aren't betas released for a specific purpose, and specifically for developers?

what difference does it make tho? if its "dead" its "dead" it wouldnt magically start working just because hes a dev lol

I had the same problem. My solution isn't the best but it works and aka its not the iPhone it's the beta. If your phone loses its power and goes off it stop charging the iPhone.

1. Buy a replacement battery (cheapest is eBay)
2. Replace the battery
3. Turn on the iPhone
4. Plug it in your laptop/ pc etc
5 download iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 (depending on you're iPhone)
6. Go on iTunes. It Should recognize your iPhone
7. Click on your iPhone and then click on restore, while holding shift.
8. Select the iOS you downloaded and restore
9. After the iPhone is restored you can recharge the battery, if you want.

Hope this helps you. If you have trouble contact me via email - manveer.singh84@yahoo.com

this happen to me as well starting with beta 3 (not yet updated to beta 5) screen black...looks lik dead

it took up to 3 days until I could switch on, (after battery run empty and recharge... I suppose)

with beta 4, yesterday happened the same, however screen was not black, i could see the standard background picture with no icon nothing. assesive touch were working, but i couldnt swith off.
iTunes was able to recordnize it, i could make a back, which I suppose was an empty back up. icloud is also able to locate it and I deleted it from there.

So now, I restarted my iphone 4, configured as a new one. at the moment I loading beta 5, then I going to step by step restore my iphone...

not sure if this will work, but I'll give a try

Need Help. Y try all, reset, chargers, cable, etc... Nothing can start up my iPhone 5.

Last night, I put in the usb charger (turn on), and in the morning I found off...

Itunes, my Macbook Air and my iMac can´t see it. Dont´t reset...
