My iPhone 5s speaker...

So there are two speakers on the bottom. I was listening to radio today while on speaker. I covered one with my thumb and it "muted" the sound. I placed my thumb over the other and it did nothing. It's almost like I only have one speaker playing. Is that normal?

One is a speaker, the other is a microphone.

There is only one speaker, not two. 😉

Completely normal since the "speaker" that did nothing was a microphone.

This is a very common question. The left side is the mic, and the right is the speaker 🙂
