D Doju macrumors 68000 Original poster Nov 10, 2009 #1 I bought a new 2009 SantaFe (yay!) and it interestingly came with a USB port near the dash. I plugged my iPhone in, but it wouldn't charge. I then turned the phone off and left it on, and it charged fully. Why is this? Why can't it charge while on?

nehunte macrumors 6502 Nov 10, 2009 #2 You might want to contact Hyundai about that one. They might have the best response.
D Doju macrumors 68000 Original poster Nov 11, 2009 #4 Hyundais are great. 😛 Any intelligent reasons why this may be happening?
Stampyhead macrumors 68020 Nov 11, 2009 #5 I'm guessing that the amount of electricity coming through the USB port isn't enough to power the device and charge the battery at same time.

C cababah macrumors 68000 Nov 11, 2009 #9 OP: You should have just said "I got a new car etc etc etc" 🙂 I figured this thread would take the turn to people for or against Hyundai which is completely irrelevant to what OP is asking.

skye12 macrumors 65816 Nov 11, 2009 #10 I would agree, its a function of the Hyundai. At least it will charge it, so I wouldn't sell the car because of it.
