Ok so last night my iphone 4 fell into the toilet at some club. Eventhough I was heavily drunk, I still had some common sense and turned it off, but when a friend asked me what happened, I turned it on and saw that I could still use it but the screen wasn't lit up. So I turned it off again, and, strangely, the camara flash was on and my iphone was REALLY hot. I didn't want to turn it on again so (again, I was drunk) I shook it a little and then kind of gave it a little slap against my hand.... I don't know, but the flash went off and I just waited until i got home to put it in rice.
Now it's been under the rice for like five hours, I tried to turn it on and nothing. I took out the SIM card, put it in rice again and after a few minutes I saw that where the camara lens is, there is some water evaporating.
How long do i need to wait until my iPhone comes back to life? Will it ever do that?

Well, I hate to tell this to you but since you turned it on with water inside, you potentially could have shorted something. I'm not sure it will ever come back. Hope you have insurance, or AppleCare+. If not I think an out of warranty replacement will be $200.

Take it to the Apple store and pay your $200. Consider that part of your booze bill. You'll never notice it.. :apple:

That was a really dumb thing to do. Put the phone is rice for a week and dont f with it.

:apple:

Yeah, it's pretty much guaranteed to be dead. I'd say a new phone is the only option. :(

This happened to me a few weeks back. A bit of advice if it happens to you...

* Turn phone off ASAFP

* Suck the water out of bottom and headphone jack with your mouth straight away. Disgusting right? It's a £500 phone...

Still worked perfectly and got a replacement for another issue anyway.

I'm sucking the water out with my mouth right now and in the camara lens there is much less water. Should I put it in rice afterwars? Wait? Turn it on? pray?

I dropped my iPhone 3G a couple of years ago into a bowl of water, completely submerged. I turned it off and dried it with a blow dryer for about an hour. My wife still uses the phone today. (until I get my 4S, then she moves onto my iPhone4)

Keep sucking harder. Even if it doesn't fix the phone it might serve some purpose...

ok ok.... blowdrying sounds good. I'm also gonna let it sit in the rice for like a week.

Beyond nasty. Can't believe you'd risk sepsis for a lousy $500. We are truly headed towards Idiocracy.

I can't believe I just did that, heading towards the mac store right nowwwwwwww

I like this NeonM poster.
He has a funny personality. We need more of those around here, it would make it even more enjoyable.

Good luck with the phone dude, I'd just get a new one.
