My iPhone is stuck on e (edge) coverage

For the entire day,for some reason my phone has been on edge coverage. I'm in an area I'm usually in where I usually have good 3G coverage. Usual the only time my phone goes to e coverage is if I'm in the mountains or something. Why is my phone doing this and how can I get it to stop? I have an iPhone 4 on AT&T.
 
Did you try restarting it, reset network settings?
Or maybe there's a 3G outage on that area, you should call AT&T to double check.
Happens.
