Good Grief. All I wanted to know was if Apple had any plans to make a bigger screen to satisfy the people that would like one. At 60, the GS3 is easier to see, but I don't want to change.

LOL, you can t ask a simple question in here without fanboys defending their beloved Apple against Android.

To answer your question....i have no idea but id lean way toward the answer being No! Then again, since they are seemingly starting to get whipped in the market share all over the world now, and Samsung's Galaxy line is gaining huge steam and they are losing court battles having to pay Samsung's court fees in the process(Losing in court everywhere else but in the USA)....maybe they will but history says they wont. The ONLY reason there might be a glimmer of hope to your question is because Steve Jobs is gone now.

Dell Streak 5.

Thats pretty much a phone ....one that didnt sell for crap. Find a tablet today under 7".

i don't understand why some of us wants a big screen for their phone. it's a phone and not a tablet

I don't know.. maybe due to emails, web browsing, multimedia, games, etc..

There's a reason it's called a smartphone. If it's just a phone, go get a nokia from 2002 and a tablet and call it a day.

I think macrumors should implement a filter that won't let apple and android be mentioned in the same thread. It all turns out the same.

Just my 2 cents.

The JB GS3 is as smooth as the iphone 5

...except the iphone 5 still lags when you scroll to spotlight

So true. They still haven't fixed that. There's plenty of spots of at in iOS as well. I don't know why people pretend like its perfect.

Here are the links just in case you want to buy:rolleyes:

Congratulations on finding three non-relevant, discontinued "tablets" (2 of which are generic brands). Nothing about them falls under what we consider a tablet to be at the present time.

One of which is even marketed as a PMP.

If Samsung releases the Pink Galaxy S3 in my country, I'll jump ship without a second thought.

The Samsungs GS3 has a very unresponsive touch in comparison with all the iPhones . It's like a 2 second delay.

The difference in touch response between the ip5 and S3 can not be judged by a human. It takes the processing power of a computer to 'see' the difference of thousandths of a millisecond. What you are posting is not true, and not sure why you would post something so erroneous?

Because they are an insecure iPhone user and they have come to the horrible realisation that both platforms are now pretty much in parity in terms of performance (which was the one thing iOS had over Android until the last 6-12 months).

Rather than accept the fact that the world is a better place for being spoilt for options like this, they have to either grossly exaggerate or just flat out fabricate reasons that reaffirm their purchasing decisions.

So true.

In certain aspects android JB even outperforms iOS. e.g. scrolling speed of iOS browser (or list scrolling) feels like turtle speed compared to android. iOS scroll speed only has like 2-step setting (slow or a bit faster).

Plain and simple Apple is going to have to solve the fragmentation and offer to two screen sizes. The sooner they realize that the better.

I like my iPhone and for my needs it's the perfect size but there's millions of people out there who obviously prefer a larger screen and this is a case where its beyond obvious that Apple needs to offer choice.

Personally I think that would've been a better move than the iPad mini.

This is one of the "tricks" iOS has used to keep the FPS high in the UI. They artificially limit the scrolling speeds so that the hardware can keep up with the processing required to render the UI whilst still maintaining smoothness.

Android never had these kinds of limits and whilst scrolling was much, much faster, it was sometimes jittery. Now that's not an issue any more.

I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. This isn't accurate at all.

Then why is the scrolling speed is so lethargic in iOS safari (and list) compared to Android browser/list? It can take twice as many swipe and twice as long to scroll to end of page compared to Android.

In list it's perfect, and another way of framing the question is why is the Android browser so hyper when you scroll in the browser? One flick and you're at the top or bottom of the page, whereas iOS smartly increases in speed if it recognizes you want to move quicker.

You are describing Android. :p In android, you can vary the scrolling speed from very slow to very fast by varying the flick.

In iOS, it is like 2-step speed. No matter how fast you flick, it still scrolls a limited amount and then start to slow down. To scroll a long document is just a pain as you need to do many flick.

So true! I was an iPhone fanboy which was actually justified until Jelly Bean and Project Butter, when it comes to OS performance. Now with a quad core CPU and GPU + 2GB of RAM in my phone ... nuff said!

Because it is true and you know it. I tried it myself. Anyone reading this : make sure you try a gs3 this week. Doesn't matter if its your friends or some random guys phone.

I will assure you that it's laggy and unresponsive.

Apple has got patented touch system.

I will simply have to disagree with you. I find my S3 to be extremely fast, smooth and touch response is perfect. Considering that the S3 was the #1 selling phone last quarter, I find it hard to imagine the phone would continue to get positive reviews by everyone if things were as you claim. I know what my phone is capable of doing, and i am very, very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

Wrong. You obviously haven't used iOS lately.

I prefer the way iOS handles scrolling in the browser, but that's me. And I guarantee you the speed is not the reason for its fluidity.

strange? every review i ever saw never mentioned this. Also even the video reviews I did not physically observe this. Actually when my boss first got the GS3 he let me play with it for a while and I never noticed this either.

Oh wait you just made that up my bad.
