If you bought all that stuff... Why did you buy a black iPhone and not just the logic board and the rest of the parts needed to build it? I'm sure it would have just been cheaper to do that.

i wonder how much that would cost actually, interesting! does someone have a list of everything you would need to buy? aka all the parts used.

I got my back off ebay £35. They say it was oem but the camera lens isn't glass like on the original. Also I doubt its helicopter grade glass! My front digitiser £41 and home button £5.99 oem are on the way from china!
Apparently the digitiser and lcd are glued together, that why people in the know buy the whole unit.
But you can prise the two apart if you have the time and patients using a hair dryer to heat up the glue.
Also you have to use the speaker mesh from the original front too. Hope its worth it and looks perfect when its finished?
As I'm starting to have second thoughts? Might just sell it all on ebay ;)

I still can't believe folks are spending hundreds of dollars, voiding their warranties and risking ruining a $200+ piece of equipment just for a goddamn color.

most places give a standard 90 day warranty, which isnt bad when you think about it. you forget 99% of things can actually be fixed on the iPhone, so if anything does ever go wrong, just send it to the company that did the conversion and they will fix it.

on the front digitiser, is there a part which sits under the glass on the front facing camera?

if you look at the black front digitiser, you can make out a sort of cone shaped part that gets smaller as it goes towards the camera lens - what part is this? and is it included on the white digitiser or do you have to remove it from the black and put it on the white?

Looking at your pictures it looks like this part is not there (you can just see an empty hole).

I believe that small part you mention stays on the phone when the front is removed, its not attached to the front if you know what I mean.

There you go :) Really enjoying playing with my new iPhone 4, its my first ever iphone. I can't put the damn thing down lol

haha yea ive had mine since august and i still cant put it down!

How do the white parts compare to the black? same quality? can you notice any differences between the parts?

had a nice email convo with the guy at iphonefixed today, really prompt replies and answered every question i asked with the answers i wanted to hear! I was just asking about the parts and he said he was going to put some close up pics of the finished conversion on their website over the weekend.

So far there doesn't seem like any reason not to go with these guys if you want your iphone servicing. Its almost like its too good to be true.

I will be getting the conversion from these guys in the near future.

I cannot tell the difference from the parts I got from iphonefixed.co.uk and the parts on my Iphone 4 if Im perfectly honest, both feel very much the same.

Will have some more photo comparisons coming soon, but I have it in the neck from the wife today as I was supposed to paint the dining room walls lmao. That will have to wait until tomorrow :)

Man I had to break it to you but that Home button white is WAY different than the white on the faceplate. Sucks!

Mickyfin,

Maybe you can help me out with this: where did you get your white dock connector from? See my thread here:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1047548/

I had issue with my white connector missing a clip for something with the home button. My OEM black Apple one had it but the white one did. I have the headphone jack done, all I need is the damn dock connector :(

I don't want to purchase another one from SW-Box as I did before. I'm fearing getting another defective part. Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks, and if you could highlight the area of concern about this clip part, I can certainly check mine, thanks!

Just got my conversion kit today from iphonefixed.co.uk

My rating is 6-7/10. Few issues I had with this kit.
-Screen is off centred, definately noticeable.
-front digitizer is not made of glass, seems like hardened plastic. Compared to my original black iphone 4 parts, the surface is less smooth and less glossy compared to the black digitizer and screen.
-near the home button of the screen a small fraction is jus clear and has no white. This is noticable as it makes the home button look uneven.
-light leaks out of the side with the volume button meaning there is a small gap between the digitizers and the middle bezel.
-also never gave me a case :( (guess ill let that slide.)
-Dark border around the lcd bit, meaning the white paint used is not truly opaque.

HOWEVER: the actual screen seems to be a true retina display, image quality is superb,
-the back looks absolutely amazing, I would give the back plate a 10/10.
-Looking at the phone from a distance, it looks truly genuine.
-Phone is FULLY funtional, camera, prox sensor, etcc

With the issues I faced I highly doubt these are OEM parts. No way the factory that makes this would have quality issues like this. But overall the phone does look great. I managed to fool a few people thinking it was a real white iphone. Its only when you inspect the details you realise. I mean I know some of you might consider it nitpicking, but for £179.99 I expect the quality to be just as amazing as the black.

i broke my iphone 4 black screen and decided to change it to white. I found on ebay a repair service username apple_irepair and the price was pretty resonable.
I used ebay apple_irepair to do the conversion black to white. I got it back within 2 days. The quality seems excellent.

I know it says white to black but apple_irepair meant to say black to white. It is the Cheapest i could find in the UK and have to say it is a excellent service

lol I literally said the same exact thing in the other white iPhone parts thread and got called a troll

I agree 100% it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, right next to spending $200 on an aluminum case that ruins your cell phone reception

these are the reason iPhone fans get made fun of

... that's because this is a UK thread and people from the UK are to polite to unmask you for the troll that you are.... us north americans on the other hand will tell you where to go (under the bridge you crawled out of)

This post by Pedro2NR says it all

I walked around my desk and the edge of my desk hit me. I did not run into hard. A few minutes later I checked my text message to find my iPhone cracked! You can see the invisible shield holding it together.

$200-300 for inferior parts that are more fragile than their OEM counterparts + a voided warranty

Even if the parts were identical, which they are not, what happens if your loudspeaker stops working, or your LCD backlight burn out... Good luck getting it repaired at Apple.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about you breaking your white front glass. That sucks.

I have finally completed my conversion, however, my donor Logic Board is fried, so need to get myself another one to test the phones functionality now.

Here's a few photos of the conversion..

I just wanted to check this is normal before i take it any further
