I synced my iPhone. I have it set to sync any checked songs and for some reason I saw a song sync that I hadn’t done any changes too. So I thought it was strange it synced it again.

I went into iTunes and saw the song was listed twice in my iTunes but with different “added” to library dates.

however the song only appears once on my iPhone, so I delete the one copy of the song off iTunes and then when I tried to play the other copy it couldn’t locate the file.

any reason why deleting one copy deleted the whole file and why my iPhone only copied one of the songs and both both?
Did the iPhone know it was technically the same song?
