Well new you can only buy the 3, but at 1080i, the 2 would be fine.

You have to take into consideration that if Apple were to release a major update with let's say Apps or something like in the future, realistically the 3 will be the only one to get that update.

As they run on the same IOS if they do ever do it they will both work i am surea anyway I doubt you will ever see apps on the atv in its current form.

Its worth it. I have two ATV3s and one of those is on a 1080i limited TV, you can not really tell the difference to any great degree.

I have a 32inch samsung. My friend is giving me his atv2 for only $50 i just hope it dosnt bother me that its only 720p but for that price why not right?

On a 32 inch screen the difference between 720p, 1080i and 1080p is going to be negligible. Your going to like how it looks on a ATV2 in my opinion.
