My life suck.

27 isn't a bad age to start. Both my parents didn't start their careers till 30/31 respectively, and they did really well (retired at 50). Mine didn't kick off till last year when I was 26. Another relative just closed down a business he put 15 years into, and at 36 he's starting right over again.

It's all good really. If you don't have a career by 40 you're screwed and/or interesting.

Oh... And no, I don't want any dog. Just lost ours 2 years ago. She died at 14 and was with us since she was just a few weeks old and I was 4 years old at this time. It still hurts but we have some priceless and wonderful memories with her.

Seriously - get a dog. I understand the reluctance, but it will be good to overcome it. People with dogs go out and walk them, and they meet other people. Those people can become friends (and girl-friends potentially).

You are in a funk, and I sympathize. Sounds like you know what you want to do... just go ahead and do it... you'll be glad you did. But, get that dog. Seriously.

Sorry folks, I just needed a place so share stuff about my boring and ****** life.

So, I'm a 21 years old guy who hates his job (in a grocery store) but currently has no choice to work there. Being paid 11,25$/h and working only week ends from now on since I'm going back to school next week, I don't have any choice but to stay at my mom's house.

You have it easy.

I've spent time in africa for work, and compared to the natives, you have

- sanitation
- power
- food
- clean water
- internet
- a job
- lots of money - in Zambia where i spent most of my time, about $7 US is 2 week's pay for a local
- a life expectancy beyond 32, which is average for Zambia
- an education - don't be too quick to complain about school
- immunization and low prevalence of diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, typhoid, AIDS (running at 35% in zambia - and that's a relatively prosperous part of africa) etc.



So, before you conclude "my life sucks" consider how the majority of the world (those not in the first world) live.

Take advantage of the good fortune you have been dealt, and make the most of it.

There are plenty of people out there that have it worse. When life really throws a big problem your way, these things will seem petty. Lets hope you won't have to deal with any major problems for a long time.

I didn't finish undergrad until 30, then I jumped around a couple jobs, and then started grad school at 32. Now, I'm doing a PhD and won't be done until I'm 38 or so... so no, 27 is not too late to start a career.

There will be many people who read your post who will have been through some very tough times. i have been through some tough financial and emotional times and got close to giving up, BUT i hung on in there and things did turn around, they will, stay strong even when it hurts and as others have said look at what you have got.
There are no solutions in my post as you will need to find your own way but i wish you luck and the fact you have had posted here means you are sensible enough to look for help and solutions to your problems it may take time but you will make it.
