I know I have that option, I’m under several project deadlines. I made a local genius desk appointment and will roll the dice with Apple CS. If Apple can’t swap it out then I will return it to Best Buy. I wonder if I should turn off file vault in case Apple will exchange it and do an in store migration.Just return it and get another unit. They are nice systems - sounds like you got one that didn't get quite enough QC love from the factory. Chances are your next one will be as close to flawless as a mass-manufactured device can be.
After talking with Apple, that was their recommendation as well, returned it bought a referb from Apple.return it and buy a new one then they can't be that stupid!!
