My mac is having episodes?

Hi, my macbook pro(i5 4278u 13 inch retina mid 2014) is going through an episode where sometimes the mouse will lag when i have Both mine craft and safari on. It makes a weird clicking noise also plus it overheats but not shuts down. Any help?

If you are running El Capitan, open Disk Utility and run First Aid.

I that case, open Disk Utility. If you do not have an SSD, not the S.M.A.R.T. status at the lower right. If it is anything but "verified", your hard drive is failing and need replacing.

If the status is Verified, then run Verify Disk and see if it reports any errors.

it's flash memory. s.m.a.r.t status is verified
