My mac will keep turning on even after it is shut down. HELP!!!

It will quickly turn on and off repeatedly every time I shut it down, close the lid, or put it to sleep. I do not know what to do, I cant even turn it off! HELP ME PLEASE!!!

First off, what kind of Mac do you have and when did this issue start?
The kind of mac I have is: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) and this problem began recently, like 2 days ago. I think it is caused by me lid closing and the computer thinks it it open, so then it repeatedly turns on and off very fast until I open the lid. I am not sure, but I think this is why, and I can not fix it. Also, I just noticed that if I manually sleep the mac by pressing the apple it works fine just sleeping normally. But as soon as I close the lid again it starts that whole annoying process again.
