Last night I had to force shut down my MBP because my mail application didnt want to close. I had force shut down before with no problem and it let me log in the next time. Today when I try to log in it would take awhile then it would send me back to the page where I choose the accounts. While trying to log in, a box popped up saying that I had force shut down due to to my mail application and it ask would I want to turn it back on and I click yes. Still it wont let me log into my account. I am currently using my Guess account. Please Help! My warranty happen to just end a couple weeks ago. Apple is trying to set me up or something.

Someone help me out!

This is pretty simple:

Hold “Option” at boot.

Select the Recovery disk at the boot menu.

In the OSX Utilities screen, launch Terminal.

Type in Terminal:
resetpassword

Confirm it, reboot back into OSX, log in as your new account, delete the old one or sort it out another way.

You force quit apps that are not responding by clicking on the Apple logo on top left, but not force shut down your whole computer. That may cause data corruption easily and it looks like it happened to you finally.

Yeah what he said too, you really don't have to force shutdown your machine.

Just command+option+escape.

So what do I do now?

Did you reset the password via terminal? If so you should be able to log in, go to Users & Accounts, then either sort out the password problem for your old account, or just delete it and carry on.
