My Mac won't wake my printer

Most of the time when I print from my Mac (Snow Leopard) to my Brother HL-5250DN printer over the network (Mac is wireless but printer is hardwired to network) it does not wake the printer. Sometimes it does but not often and I don't know what is different when does from when it does not. When I print and it does not wake the printer when I go in and turn the printer off and then back on it prints everything and does so from then on. My PC is OK, it wakes the printer 100% of the time.

Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?
