My MacBook air trade-in was rejected saying it wouldn't hold a charge or hold a charge and data erasure. It was working fine, the last thing I did before sending it in Apple's trade-in kit was transfer data to the new air. Has anyone else had this issue? The last three trade-ins have been rejected, so it seems sort of a scam.

It's never happened to me but yeah, I see people here complaining about it from time to time. Don't know what to think really.

One option is never SEND it in, always BRING it to an Apple Retail Store. Not an option for me as the nearest store is multiple hours' drive.

Always bring it into store yourself - who knows what could happen to it while it is being shipped !
