My Macbook can't read any memory cards

Hi,

I've had my Macbook Pro for about two months now and suddenly it stopped reading my memory cards. I thought it was a matter of restarting the computer, but I was wrong, it still didn't read my memory card. I tried to plug in my camera (with the memory card in it of course) through USB, but it still didn't read it; Whereas my camera could read the card without any problems at all, so I'm curious what has happened. Is there anything I can try before I have to give up and to go to an Apple Store to get it fixed?
