My macbook/G5 desktop won't communicate properly

Trying to network my Macbook with my G5 desktop via the wireless network. Works fine one way, but not the other. Both can see each other, but I can only pull files one way and not the other.

Need an idiot's guide to setting up permissions etc on both Macs. Web help so far hasn't provided the answer.

Is Personal File Sharing ticked in both Mac's System preferences (Sharing pane)? Do both Macs have AppleTalk enabled for AirPort in the Network pane?
