I have had my Macbook Pro since May 2008 and not until recently my computer is having trouble reading CD's and DVD's. My computer will take in the disk try to read it and then spit it back out. When in does eventually read the disk it works fine, its just that initial step that is causing the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be happening?

Thank you

Could be a dirty lens. You should be able to pick up a CD lens cleaner kit quite cheaply from most electronic stores. Basically a CD with soft micro brushes that clean the lens.

Could be dirty or it could be the SuperDrive starting to fail. Try to clean first, if that doesn't solve the problem, it's time for a repair.
