Here's my display profile setting that beats an HP X360 13 4k OLED display IMHO. I have a base model MBP 14 2021.

HDR Video (P3-ST 2084)
Color Gamut: P3
White Point: Custom x: 3.175 y: 0.3300
SDR Transfer Function: BT.1886 Annex 1
Apple System Gamma Boost: 1.22
Enable HDR Content
Maximum Luminance: HDR 1542 SDR 500
Unblock Limit Luminance

Try and tell me what you think. Yes, it is quite bright! :)
*no I haven't experienced any dimming due to heat. I don't think I've ever heard the fans kick on once on this device, but I don't really do anything that pushes it that hard. I made the right purchase.

How did you arrive at this? Can you adjust brightness using this profile?

Just trial and error. This seems to be the best I could come up with that would match the quality of the display on my HP X360 with OLED. Unfortunately, no the brightness cannot be adjusted on any custom profile, which is too bad. I don't understand why they force that restriction.
