I would hope so.
Your problem can also be caused by Activation lock and if that's on you'll need to take your Mac off iCloud as per that link (with another Apple device). Hopefully not on.
Ok, I tried it and it worked and didn't have to turn off activation lock. I was able to reinstall the Catalina but while I was updating to Big Sur, in the midst of the installation, I got a message saying that the computer had the restart because of a problem. Let's see it this continues. If it does, then it certainly must be Big Sur for some strange reason not liking my computer.

Thanks for coming back.
So you got it running Catalina. That's a start. At least you know it's not dead :)
Strange about updating to Big Sur though as your machine should certainly be suited.
Maybe BS was the cause of the crashes, though I have no idea why.
Maybe leave it on Catalina for a while and watch to see what happens with BS updates.

Well, I've downgraded to Catalina and it restarted again today. I was surfing on safari, using Mail and Messages. It restarted with the message saying it needed too restart because of a problem. Yet, I performed a diagnostic on it and it found zero problems.

Ok, I performed a Diagnostic on it again and no issues found. I event and still booted up on Command R and did a First Aid on my HD, here’s the details.

When it checked the container superblock, it read “warning: container has been mounted by APFS version 1677.60.23 which is newer than 1412.141.1”

and the other warning it gave:

“Warning: disabling overallocation repairs by default; use -0 to override.”

I don’t know what any of this means.

I believe Big Sur can have a problem with it. Completely unconfirmed I have to say but I noticed something about it on here recently. I have no idea where though. Sorry.

if so, Catalina may have a problem with it because it still crashes after erasing my disk and reinstalling Catalina.
