Bought two MacBook Pro this week - one 15" and one 17".

The 15" was perfect.

The 17"' trackpad was awfully loud and making not one, but two loud clicks.

Exchanged it. Got a new one. Going down to the 15", because I feared that's just how 17"ers are.

The screen of the 15" was completely on the left side of the frame with a big black line along the right side.

Exchanged it.

Got a 15" with a heartbreakingly poor loudspeaker output. Left loudspeaker hardly worked, right one yes. Checking the serial number that unit was produced in April - must have been one of the first ones leaving the assembly line.

Checking the serial of the perfect 15" I got earlier this week: made in July.

Crisp awesome loudspeaker sound.

Can you believe it? Didn't give up yet and am down on my knees that next time, next time I get a properly working unit.

Are these new or refurbs?

So the one you hav enow has crisp sound, so it's good then? No more replacements, right? No next time then.

Nope, I need two, one for the family, one for work.

They were sold as brand new - but got the one produced in July at a dealer, the April one at an Apple store.

So trying a new source this time.

Painfully frustrating.

Other than the fact you had to get them fixed (stuff happens) it must be nice to have two new Macbook Pros!
:)
