And now iStat has made me paranoid and overprotective.


Anyone else experience unreasonable paranoia due to this amazing dashboard add-on?
 
Maybe at first, but now I know my Macbook and how it functions so I'm not worried about anything because I know it's normal. Also, what specifically makes you paranoid? Temperature?
 
No I only like it watch discharge rate of the battery. You figure out sooner and quicker if there is something in the background killing battery life.
 
I am still confused now as to why your macbook pro is not magical? Mine is blistering fast ad ever so silent.
 
What are you paranoid about? It's a machine that is meant to be used - as long as it's fast and not crashing, what's the problem?
 
I used to kind of worry about it but after having it a couple of months I will likely remove istat and smcFanControl.

For my uses the fan on auto does a great job and don't feel i ever have the need to rev it up to keep it cooler
