My MacBook Pro

So I recently decided to make the jump into the Mac World and bought a Macbook Pro 17" notebook (around July I believe). I love it, I dual boot XP for the games and OSX for the everything else. The only problem I have with it is that it gets really hot. When I'm gaming, it gets almost uncomfortable to have my wrists resting on the notebook. I know heat has been a problem with many Macbook Pro owners, so I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to solve the problem, short of opening up the macbook myself and removing some of the heatsink gobs that may be there.

Appendum: If I were to take my notebook to an Apple store, would they have technicians that could possible "fix" the heat issue themselves and if yes, around how much would it cost me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although I'm sure those are good solutions, I'd rather not have to purchase a laptop stand and such as I do not find them comfortable when my laptop is on my desk. I also would prefer not to have to bring all kinda of accessories to be able to use my notebook or I would have just gone with a PC notebook. ;)

Just as Apple last night made a firmware update to fix moo/heat on MB's, they may soon release one to resolve the heat on the MBPs';) Otherwise, there's resetting PMU, or getting one of the products I recommended.
