I have a MacBook 5,2 with OSX 10.11.6 whenever I start a download in Firefox at first the download seems to work fine but it gets to a certain point and it just stops downloading Says it failed and if I try to resume it won't start to download anymore the download just freezes and eventually fails again. It doesn't seem to matter what site I try to download from all downloads do the same thing.

Of note is this is for downloads that are over 1gb in size. If it is something small like under 600mb it downloads fine. I don't have any restrictions on my ISP for download size or usage.

Has anyone else had this problem, as is I have to download everything on windows and transfer it over. I don't have any trouble using the same WiFi for downloading on my PC. So it can't be that.

Have you tired over Safari or Chrome?
I tried both the download gets to a certain point then stops and says Network Failed and when I try to resume the download it says I am forbidden to download file.

The thing is there is nothing wrong with my network, and I don't know why the download would be forbidden it's free software. It is NSFW content but it's not illegal. Do they block downloading NSFW content on Mac's.

It is just some Adult Visual Novels from Itch that I am trying to download for Mac.

Have you tried on another network?

No, but I figured it out I just had to turn off my Firewall and everything downloads fine. Thanks.
Problem Solved.

Firewall? That should be up always

Software firewalls are not always necessary. Most, if not all, routers have a hardware firewall that handles that.

If you are connecting to a public or unsecure network at any point then the software firewall is definitely recommended.

While you are at home your router should be taking care of that. Obviously verify this with your router before just turning off your software firewall.

I have a dual Firewall (router + Mac)... yes I'm that cautious. That way, I don't forget to turn it on when in another place.
