I have a MBP 13' Touch Bar (2017) 256GB SSD 16GB Ram. Battery is at 70%.
It still runs really well for what I use it for. I have had great luck with MBP's, last one was a 2009 that lasted 8 years.

My question is this. If I am doing light browsing and accessing banking/trading/credit card websites should I be concerned now that it no longer receives security patches? I do not download anything off the Internet other then an app I use to download music occasionally off YouTube (YouTube to MP3).

Ideally I would like to continue using this laptop till the rumored MacBook Pros M6 OLED's come out. I wouldn't be be against a MBA M5 as it would handle my limited workload. I just have had great runs with the pro machines.

Thanks in advance.

I been using my iPhone for most of it. Writing may be on the wall. Time to upgrade. Just have to consider if its worth waiting for the OLED's or go with a M5 MBA.

In my opinion you could use OpneCoreLegacy and get the latest OS on it or install Linux on it.
I have seen some posters mention OpenCore. Would that slow up my machine, how would I know if its worth downloading or if my Mac can handle the latest update?
