My MBPr won't shut off sometimes

I noticed that my mid 2014 MBPr won't shut off sometimes. When I attempt to shut it off it behaves normally as it is going to get shut off with the gray screen but the next morning when I try to turn on my laptop I find out it's still on. Could this be a os mavericks problem or a problem with my comp? I woke up to a nearly dead battery this morning and it's worrying me.

Without knowing what programs you run and any additional hardware you use, it is impossible to day.

You may have some corruption or something. You may wan tto do a freash install.
