macgeek2005, if you ask me (which you didn't but I'm going to tell you anway), your biggest problem is that you need to lighten up and get a sense of humor. Instead of just going with the flow of things you get upset and immediately want your thread locked.

Sure, people might be making jokes and your expense, but just go with it, and you might find yourself laughing too. :)

That said, anytime one can get a book published, they deserve to be congratulated; it's not an easy task. ...And it's good that your are proud of your Mom, she may not have been able to write this book (esp. a parenting one) without the help of her family.

I agree with you completely. In fact, sometimes on other forums i've created such funny threads and been mocked with such clever jokes, that I had to print out the entire conversation, and read it to my older brother. We both cracked up throughout the whole thing. And thank you for your support and encouraging words.

Looks wholesome to me.

Is he the one who beats you at foosball?

(posting despite the voice in my head telling me to "walk away ... walk away")

I'm starting to feel a little uneasy that this conversation has changed to my personal life, and that there are pictures of my family posted in here... but, yes, he is the one who beats me at foosball.

The full-moon was a couple days ago, right?

What gives? Things are wierd around here today...

To the OP - congratulations on your mothers acheivement(s).

Personally, I am wary of help-books, as I believe that the difficulty in life is not so much recognizing truths and choices, but having the courage and fortitude to live up to them. No book can really help with that.

Well, the pictures of your family are on the public website that you linked to, and there's a whole website about your brother linked from that...

Alright, i'm sorry. Lock the thread please.

This seems to be how all your threads end.

Someone should make him a mod so he can clean up after himself.

If you're enjoying it then that's wonderful.

*shudders*

Please tell me this statement is entirely context dependent and not some larger, general and supposedly self-sufficient claim.

Would be interested if you could link me to this "new parenting movement" so I can evaluate on my own terms. From the outside it sound a bit too "glass is half full" to me, especially for parents who are overwhelmed, underpaid and underslept.

I forgot my aunt also wrote a book about a similar topic.

Hers is called Take The Fight out of Food. It's about how to get your child proper nutrition and develop healthy eating habits.

Meh, maybe if I was a parent I would enjoy it more :p

Congrats to your mom, Macgeek! I think a little pride in your mom is perfectly fine. And you certainly do keep the conversation lively.

Thanks :).

My parents have written, illustrated, designed, published or art directed many hundreds of books.

Am I trying to sell them here?
