It's just I see you guys talking about fighting with your kids, and you have no idea what it feels like to me, because I know that you don't have to fight with your kids.

I'm offering you a bowl of ice cream, and you guys are chatting like this:

Person #1: Hey, hows it goin? It's too bad theres no ice cream. I really wish we could have some ice cream.

Person #2: Yeah I know. It's really too bad. I really want some ice cream.

Me: I HAVE SOME ICE CREAM RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Person #2: Oh, no, there's no ice cream. But boy, I sure wish there was some.

So frustrating.

 to this whole thread.

macgeek2005, I don't think this was the place to plug the book the first time, as repeatedly pointed out by several mods and members. Now that the topic has gotten off course, you feel another plug is somehow necessary, when it was against the rules the first time. I'd love to hear the logic behind this bold advertising strategy of yours.

Well, I would probably assume that someone who brought up a well-rounded and easygoing kid would be a good person to offer parenting advice. Maybe macgeek2005 wants to tell us about his mum's book, so we can make our decision now he's made a few threads in this forum, and we know his personality a bit more.

It was a metaphor.

You people think that there is no way to have a relationship with your kids that is free of any stress, anger, or fighting. And i'm trying to tell you that there is. You are not beliving me. I guess theres no reason to go on talking then.

Metaphor - go hit the books.

I do believe you that you can have a great relationship with your kids. But because of the relationship that I have with my mother not anything you've said.

If I have kids, I'll follow her example because I think both my sister and I turned out pretty well. From what I've read of this thread, I'm not so sure that your mother's book would teach me anything I'd particularly want to know. You don't seem to have control of your anger or a particular understanding of life in terms of humour, irony or social awareness.

If you would listen to what I'm trying to say for just one second, and get out of your ego and your mind, and consider the possibility that I have something of value here to show you guys... you might gain alot.

you want us to go out of our mind? The only one out of their fracking mind here is you.

I'm not out of my mind. I'm just sharing a book with you guys.

You've shared. We've responded. Now move on to something else...

But you guys don't believe me!!! That's what's so frustrating. You guys think you know it all.

There is no hope for you. You're just gone. Must be a home schooling thing. On the bright side you'll make a good televangelist.

My relationship with my children is like that but it didn't take no booklearning to get it.

'You people' is a bit general isn't it?

Still waiting for my metaphorical ice cream.

I can see him walking door-to-door with his mother's parenting idea

Given that most of us have a little more life experience than you, it's not surprising that we think we know more than you. And no-one has said they don't believe that parents and kids can't get along well for the most part; I'd imagine most of us have pretty fond memories of our parents. And those with kids think they're already doing a pretty good job of bringing them up.

You're not going to make us want to buy that book or recommend it to anyone by continuing. At the moment, all we can see is a spoilt brat who thinks that everyone should believe everything he says without regard for the thoughts of others. Not the best advertisement for the product.

You're wrong. I hate to tell you, but you're wrong. I'm gonna be rich and successfull, because I know The Secret, and i'm a Genius.

You know, they told John Lennon that he's gonna be a failure...... Einstien got bad grades...... etc.. etc.. etc..

I laugh at what you said.

Just out of interest, if you showed your mum the above post, what would she say in response?

She would be very proud of my goals, and support me to become the rich and successful person that I am going to be.

You: I have something to tell you guys!
Us: So tell us, already!
You: Buy this book. My mom wrote it, and it's about parenting. It's good.
Us: It's good? I guess that's proof that people can learn from mistakes, eh?

In other words.. this thread is nothing but a shameless plug, we don't care anymore, you don't know anything about parenting. Maybe your mom does, but we don't care. Stop assuming we all have terrible relationships with our children or parents and move on to your next pointless, disaster of a thread.

EDIT: I just read your 'I'm a Genius' post. It's true, your a comic genius alright, where do you get your material? :D
