My new 2024 M4 iMac - 512GB/24GB in silver

Looks like I'm joining "Club Silver" again to match my silver MacBook Air. I just ordered my M4 silver. iMac...24GB RAM + 1TB Drive and full size keyboard. Dec 30th is the ETA.
Crikey; that's a wait!
TBH that's another reason I went silver; to pair with my M1 MBA and white keyboard / trackpad etc...

It's OK I don't mind waiting. Besides, I think it originally said between December 23 and December 30 and because I chose in-store pick up. It gave me that last date. Hopefully it'll be like my previous purchases and it will deliver earlier than expected. But given that it's Christmas time, I don't mind waiting. And to your point, my OCD is happy as well with my decision
Yeah i could have gone with the 512GB version (and saved some $$) and picked up in store today. I considered that quite a bit. My MBA is currently with 293GB free space (it has 512GB) but I like having the knowledge that i have future proofed the iMac with additional space for years to come (considering I upped the RAM to 24GB for longevity). I know it’s a bit of a wait, and may never use this storage space. I also like the full size keyboard.

Even when you order it in a color (meaning non-silver), the color is only on the lowest portion of the front -- most of it is on the back, which for me would face the wall. And I wonder why they no longer put the Apple logo on the front? 😮
Don't think so. The days of the "significant difference" were Intel to M1. Now the upgrades are incremental. Not worth upgrading unless you like to watch benchmarks or are designing the space shuttle and you want to do it 30 seconds faster.
Nice iMac, enjoy. I previously owned 2 iMacs, great computers. Currently I use a MacBook Air M1.

Had x4 iMacs in the past myself (x2 21.5” and x2 27”) - the 27” are just too big now as I’ve reduced my desk size as per the pictures. I used to have a professional 90º office desk in my office into the corner, so could set the iMac right back and have plenty of room between it & me. Can’t do that now, but the 24” size for now is perfect.
The BenQ monitor I had with my M1 Mac Mini was 25” but with chunky bezels
Decided to purchase an iMac M4 16GB/256GB for our home office. In silver, nicely neutral and, in my opinion, how an iMac is supposed to be. A beautiful machine, delivered last Saturday. Very happy with it — a great addition as a work computer alongside a MacBook Air M2, iPad mini 6, and iPhone 16 Pro.
