My new iPhone 5 has static/lines on keyboard

Me too....I just noticed when signing in to the AppStore to approve a download that I had static lines across the keyboard. When I went in again it did not happen

Hoping too it's an OS issue (assuming) since only on the logon portion of iTunes/AppStore?

White Search Bar in iPhone Old 4/ New 5 (iOS 6) has static while typing in search

I updated my old iPhone 4 and had static in my white search bar of iOS 6 and also now see it in my new iPhone 5 (64 GB). I told this to apple support and get a new iPhone 5 when more shipment comes in. Anyone else notice THE WHITE SEARCH BAR having static while typing (scroll left) from main icon screen?
 
Same problem, happened when opening a folder once. I wander of this is GPU related. I don't want to exchange since Everything else is flawless.
 
Same problem here, i tried restore, but it seems the problem still exists, should i go to the apple store, and will they swap?
 
My second phone...same problem..so seems big chance to have this

Really like hardware problem to me as a computer engineer. But still, software update may avoid this. Hope apple solve it asap
 
Thank god others are seeing this too. I thought I was going crazy and seeing things.

It sucks and should not be happening. But, it's not really a big deal. I'll wait a few months and see if it's fix in an update.
 
I had this same issue with my new 64gb white iPhone 5 out of the box. Considering how many people have posted a similar experience in this thread, I'm guessing it's software related. I can't say I've noticed the issue recently though, so maybe it was just an app store glitch.
 
I have the same issue, along with battery problems and it randomly stops charging.

Based on my computer experience such issues arise when the GPU and/or screen has a defect in it and it starts processing the data incorrectly. In this case I would suspect the screen is at fault since there were low yields originally.
 
So far it happens only so often. and always when typing the password, a few key strokes into typing.

Tried:
-After a force quit of App Store, No Static

So far I can only pin it own to when I haven't opened the app store for a while. not very specific but perhaps others can help pin point when and why it happens, what make sit happen.
 
Has anyone tried taking a screenshot while it is doing this?

Should determine hardware vs software.
 
I have noticed this once myself ... not across the letters like everyone else, but in the black line between them.

How could this be hardware related if only happens on one screen?
 
Anyone know if there is an official Apple thread on this at their support forums?
 
I'm having the same static lines and have now noticed a squiggly line on the letter p and k.. I have checked and the lines on are under the screen saver and screen. Anyone else notice this??
 
Getting this same issue on my AT&T Black iPhone 5 32GB. I noticed it within the first few days of having it. It happens at random times, usually for less than 5 seconds. I'm hoping a software update fixes it, but if it continues I'll likely take it into the Apple store. Will wait for the first update or two to come out though.
 
Same issue here. Seems to happen only on app store keyboard.

Will wait until the try to solve software problem.
 
I figure not a huge deal, if not worked out with software in 11.5 months I will bring it to the attention of the apple store and have a new one to play with.
