What bugs me that if the card fails the drive is done but with plug in drives to the card, you can just replace the drive and restore your computer

You are right, the Accelsior is not performing at its absolute best in a Mac Pro, but fact is that they say it delivers 688MB/s in a Mac Pro, and I have never experienced that it didn't
Other solution may theoretically deliver better performance, but often fall short. The Accelsior never falls short...
