My New MBP has Snow Leopard installed

I heard somewhere that I can get Lion for free (I ordered my MBP from the Apple Store online the day after Lion was released).

What is the correct procedure for getting lion for free (I'm in UK if that changes anything).

You have to fill out the form at http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/uptodate/, which will get you a code that you can redeem in the App Store.

Might want to check your spam folder... if it's not there, then call or email Apple to see what the deal is.

Just give apple a call they will straighten it out on the spot.
