Hi all,

I recently purchased a new Mac Mini. Mid tier with 16GB Ram and 1TB Fusion with 2.5Ghz Dual core. My main uses are very basic photography / videography (using Photos, iMovie and Affinity Photo). In addition, a lot of word processing and browing the web. Just the regular day-to-day use. My overall take home was $1287 taxes in. In Canada the midtier with upgraded specs was $1500. Bestbuy was having a deal so I took advantage. Have a 2 week return policy and I receive it on Wed. Any experiences with this setup/thoughts/advice?

Thanks.

As a fellow Canadian, how did you get a BTO mini at BB? Their website only shows the bottom, mid, and top tier "stock" configs. Are you referring to the 2014 model?

You have to order it through GeekSquad, only problem is it takes forever to ship out

Just use it.

Don't fret over it…..

Could a bit over specced for your needs, but better that than under specced. I do somewhat similar with my 6 year-old 2 GHz Mini, with 5 GB RAM, the original 120 GB HDD, and a couple of external HDD's; 1TB for Time Machine and 500 GB for archived files that. It handles my needs just fine.
