My old iPad2 doesn't open anymore

2 days ago when I was opening my old iPad 2, appeared a message saying it had to be reactivated. Then, after some minutes, appeared a message saying that the server was not available. I then connected it to iTunes and tried to reactivate with my Apple ID, but I could not. I don't know what to do and why this happened. Any help?

I’d give Apple a call. What error message did you get when connecting to iTunes?
