today i was using Quark in Classic and it wouldn't type. it was like the keyboard was all scrambled, i would go to type a letter and some symbol would appear.

but before that i was using Photoshop 6 in Classic and it would freeze every time i tried to save a file.

is it possible that i installed the RAM wrong? it's been detected and everything, it wouldn't do that if it was installed incorrectly, would it?

Installing RAM is pretty much idiot proof.... so if you did do it wrong, you know what that means... You might want to make sure that it is fully seated and clicks into place in the slots... IF the memory doesn't lay flat, then it could be the stacked variety (which I wouldn't use since it is too thick for the TiBook).

It is more possible to have installed the wrong memory then the memory wrong.

i'll have to check again, but i think the RAM is installed properly. and there seem to be less problems now.

i also was just reading this the other day, http://www.OSXFAQ.com/dailytips/07-2002/07-23.ws
it talks about Open Firmware and how to reset it to magically get rid of most problems. has anyone used this before? i might give it a shot.
