when i plugg in my iphone nothing happens, it do not charge, sync, nothing. i try my other usb ports, other cables, restarting, ect... it charges, in the wall and in the car.... i need to go to att??? please help... sorry for spelling ;) im in a hurry.... thnx

if your computer doesnt have 2.0 usb ports it cant read ipod touchs or iphones

Take it to Apple, but first put it in DFU mode and iTunes should recognize it.

I'm having a very similar problem - although my iPhone will charge - and my PC recognizes it as an "Apple Camera" - not an iPhone... Itunes will NOT recognize it. I don't even get the "spinning circle" like its trying to recognize something.

I tried your advice about restarting it in DFU mode - although I got the "needs installation CD" prompt, and not from Itunes but from my PC directly.

Please help?!? I desperately need to connect my phone to Itunes.

Try powering off and then holding the home button while connecting to iTunes. This forces a restore.

Ok... For some reason that worked in getting my PC to recognize it as an Iphone and not an Apple Camera... (when I plug it in I now get the "Apple Iphone Connected" box thru windows) But Itunes still will not recognize it. It doesn't indicate that any device is connected...

1 step down... now what?!?

I figured it out!!

Try this to fix if you're still having issues:

1) Download the latest iTunes, then -extract - (not install) the files (I used 7-zip...)

2) Go to the parent folder where the extracted Itunes files were saved and install (repair) the AppleMobleDeviceSupport.msi.

3) In the device manager - uninstall the Iphone if its under Imaging device. (The problem is that Windows is automatically using microsoft drivers and overriding the apple drivers).

This should work. Itunes should now recognize your phone.

Thank you! I will now refer other posters to this thread for the great information given here. They should be able to solve any problem with the advice given here!
