Hey guys, as the title says, when my wife sees my phone listed in AirDrop (on her phone), the name it states is hers. Why is this?

To review: We have separate unique iCloud accounts, which are signed into. In our Contact info everything is different, including all email addresses listed. Find My Phone lists my iPhone's correct name/owner. The only thing we share is my Apple ID (for downloading apps and such), which is also has my name all over it (it's my account).

So, why can't AirDrop on my wife's phone identify my phone correctly?

Not certain about this, but i am pretty sure AirDrop identifies by phone numbers. People's names are then filled in via the users personal contacts.

Check your wife's phone for contacts that have her name on then and see if your number is in her contact at all.

What does it say there? I think that's what name it picks up.

I'm in my wife's Contacts and the correct number is listed there.

My name is on there. Certainly not my wife's.
