Hey fellow :apple:TV fanatics!

I'm trying out something a little different here - a (rock) music-related podcast for Apple TV with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack.

Surround sound system highly recommended, but not required. Let me know what you think!

iTunes link here!

From the iTunes description:

Guitarist and surround recording artist Jeff Perrin shares surround sound music production demos and experiments in support of his iOS app-album, Home Theater Ear Candy. Presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 (Optimized for iOS and the Apple TV)

Nice work, Jeff!
What I saw is actually called quadraphonic music.

Thanks for checking it out!

Yes, you are of course correct - the majority of my music is indeed written and mixed for 4.0. However, as "5.1" seems to be the accepted nomenclature for surround sound among the general public, I'm just keeping the "labeling" simple. For now...

Too bad that didn't get more legs back then. Just think how much classic rock could be available for modern home surround sound systems today (without technical trickery).
BTW on second thought - the SQ matrix should be decodable to 4 channels also mathematically in computer, no?
The CD-4 format is more tricky but if Dolby ProLogic can be done in software, then why not SQ?

EDIT: Heh, it's done already!

Just learned the podcast is currently being featured in iTunes 'New & Noteworthy' section. Yay! :D
