Well blood tests showed nothing and basically they are going to try some random medications to help her breath. Wheeeee....

I'm happy she doesn't have something crazy at least... or maybe it's so crazy that nobody has ever seen it! :p

I'm not a cat person but I hope yours gets better, I really hope that its something small like... i dunno. shes allergic to your eyebrows? yea. that'd be a good conversation piece... "soo... whats going on with your eye brows?" "oh there? can you notice tha..." "oooooh nononono course not" "well you see my cats allergic to them"

yea... :)

my dogs really ill right now. in her own subdued way. she has lumps, coughs a lot, going a bit senile. its really sad. its like her body is slowly shutting down. whats worse is that we didn't get her when she was young, the folk at the dog kennels thought she was 5-8 when we got her.

nod, I know vets that refuse to do the procedure because of that fact.
Our cat is not de-clawed because we taught him to use a scratching post and with 2 dogs, it's really easy to clip his nails on the same schedule we clip our dogs.

However, I see no reason for the uproar over de-clawing this cat and cats in general. Why? Because to me, a de-clawed cat with a loving home is better than a euthanized cat with no home.

Panda, glad to hear nothing too serious came of this. :)

People can do what they want, it really doesn't bother me as long as they keep them indoors.

Or cat is indoors only, and we trim her claws about once every two weeks (amazing how fast they get dagger-like again).

She's never been a couch-scratcher, but she never really had the chance to be, either - her nails are usually dull.

I'd recommend a good sisal rug in the kitchen or entryway. Perfect for stretching claws. Biscuit loves our sisal rung in the kitchen.

My first cat I didn't have declawed for a good 6 months. I tried a lot of methods and ended up replacing a lot of wood door frames... I had enough sisal rope stuff to stock a pirate ship. Oddly enough she never touched the sisal until *after* she got declawed. Weird cat.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious.

I don't believe my mother ever got her cats nails trimmed. Mostly because we have this ugly green carpet that they liked. Also, they used a few polls from the porch as their main scratching post.

My grandmother's cats were all indoor house cats and hardly ever went outside unless it was on a leash. They were declawed.
