My dad used to leave drinks in the freezer to cool them down quickly, but he always forgot and BANG... now we don't bother with fizzy drinks and refrigerators/freezers unless it's hot outside.

NOOO!!!! It's SODA!!! We in the north east are right about everything!
The only thing that got my attention in the thread title was "exploded".
