Whenever i load up a large video in quicktime (like a 720p movie trailer) the quicktime window gets hidden below the dock. The problem is, I can't access that little corner that lets you drag the window to make it smaller, nor can I access the quicktime controls (play, pause, etc).

Please help me!

What kind of Mac are you on? Just go to the View menu and run it fullscreen if it's too be to be seen in a window. Then you'll have access to your controls.

either press the green zoom "plus" button or select "original size", "fit to screen" etc from QuickTime Player's view menu.
