Not sure if this is allowed in here, but I'm sure the mods will fix that mistake quick enough if not.

As Apple have literally just approved this, I thought I'd throw it in here for you.

I semi-retired My Recipes quite a while ago as, after four years, it was getting a bit old and creaky under the surface (much like myself :D)

I’ve been working away on this update for over a year and it brings a lot of new and improved features to the app.

I won’t get this post too bogged down with all the details, you can have a look at the website for all the information if you’re interested. But, roughly, My Recipes is a personal recipe management app. You can store and share your own recipes as well as add any you get sent quickly and easily.
You can browse the web and add recipes from many websites at the touch of a button and from any website with an easy to use assisted save option.

There’s unlimited timers, conversion utilities, an AR camera portion tool and of course shopping lists.

There is also an OCR recipe scanner built-in allowing you to add fully editable text and full recipes just by taking a photo.

The app is localised into 8 languages (as is the OCR scanner.)

But what we’re probably most interested in here are the new Apple Watch features.

On Apple Watch you can browse your entire recipe collection, view the ingredients and get step-by-step instructions right on your watch.

You can view all of your shopping lists and easily check items off as you go about your shopping trip, without having to keep taking your phone in and out of your pocket.

Lastly you can view, pause, resume and create timers right from the Apple Watch as well.

There’s a couple of screens attached here to give you an idea of the app and if you want more info, just take a look on the WiteNoiz website.

Cheers,
Stuart.

The app goes live on the 24th but can be downloaded now when using the codes, just in case anyone didn't know that.

Apple must be faffing about with the apps that are going live tomorrow, the codes were working earlier.

But after its actually launched tomorrow I'll send you a code to download it.

Thank You!

FL6FJ7MYRA7N redeemed.

The bottom three have also been redeemed by people, who obviously couldn't say thanks :) don't know about the first.

All of the above codes have been used, still looking for one myself if possible please!

Just a wee update, now that the quick bug-fix update has gone live.

I'm just doing final testing to the first proper update which brings massive improvements to the  Watch functions.
Where at the moment the watch relies on iCloud for everything, I have decided to offload all functions to be performed on the iPhone.

This might sound like it would slow things down a bit, but in testing its only fractions of a seconds difference.
Far more importantly though is that everything on the watch reflects changes in the iPhone app in real time and vice versa.

This is much more important when you are dealing with things like timers, where at the moment because iCloud can take a bit of time to sort itself out the changes made are not always accurately reflected for some time.

I've been using it myself and I much prefer the way things are done in the upcoming update.

As always, questions, suggestions, comments and general abuse are always welcome :D

All of the codes have been used. Anyway you can PM me one? I'd love to check this out. Definitely something I'm hoping works wonderfully!! It would make life in the kitchen much easier & less cumbersome!! Thanks in advance!

Yin other wee update.

The 5.0.2 update for My Recipes has been submitted to Apple.
Some minor bug fixes and interface improvements for the iOS device side of things.

But mainly this update is about  Watch improvements and there are plenty. Everything below is specifically for the  Watch.

First of all, everything stays properly in sync. In real time with your iPhone, as it should be.

The recipe list has been updated to look better and make reading as you scroll easier as well as optimise loading times.

When viewing recipe ingredients you can now add them to a shopping list with one touch.

You can create new shops using dictation.

You can add items to a shopping list using dictation. Just say a list of items and hit Done. My Recipes will add each item you said individually.

A delete button has been added to the shopping lists so you can remove them on your watch.

When creating timers on the watch you can now add a name using dictation.

The timers now match the colours you set for them on your iPhone and they always display the name of the timer. Regardless of its running state.

And finally there's an  Watch user guide added to the My Recipes apps settings.

I think that's everything. I'm loving the dictation, don't think I've ever made so many lists for anything I can think of in my life :D

Just a quickie to say Apple has finally released the new update. Using the app on Apple Watch is so much better now.
Full change log is above.

With the latest update to My Recipes now released, to celebrate me finally being happy with how it works on Apple Watch.
Here's a new batch of codes to download the app.
