I don't think the trackpad is any louder than my late 2011. I don't think there is anything cheap sounding about the new model. it is just a different sound. The response of the trackpad is firm. Saying the trackpad sounds cheap because the sound is different and one you don't like, doesn't make sense, in my opinion.

I thought the trackpad on my new 15" was loud until I went back and tried my 2012 rMBP. It is much louder. I don't think I even noticed that the new trackpad was loud until I read it here and it definitely doesn't not sound cheap in my opinion.

Is that with silent clicking enabled?

Because the Apple page says it isn't available, and I don't see the option in the trackpad settings. That is why I said it.
Silent click dragging isn't available but click and right click is. How do I upload video?

Because you probably have tap to click enabled. That's not the same as silent click, which is not available on the late 2016 MBP.
Ah I see. I am talking about the classic tap to click, which is silent obviously.

What battery life you get

I'll be able to report on this later -- Photos Agent is constantly running in the background with about 40-70% CPU usage, so until that stops I won't really know.

For now, while running around 40-70% constantly, I'd say I get 2-3 hours on a full charge.

I would absolutely love a nice matte finish on my new MBP's screen, like all my previous ones had (I upgraded from pre-retina). I still wouldn't want it to be a touchscreen.

Why? I'm very curious. Imagine a smudge-free, matte device like the Touch Bar? What's not to like?

Touch screens can't be smudge-free, I don't think. That is not how skin oil works.

And yeah, I wish they'd make matte screens again. I'm pretty much stuck having at least one Mac laptop, I need it to be reasonably current, and I hate glossy screens.

37 second Comparison/Review:

Machines:
Mid-2015; 2.8Ghz, 16GB, 512GB, m370x
Late-2016; 2.9Ghz, 16GB, 1TB, 460

Pros:
#1 - Beautiful. Just look at the pictures.
#2 - Quiet. Even when it is working hard.
#3 - Cool. Literally. And it's cool. ;)
#4 - 460 > m370x. AMD’s engineering crew deserves kudos.

Cons:
#1 - Touch Bar. It's already a dead dream.
#2 - Trackpad. “Click” sounds cheap and is too loud. Mid-2015 "click" was spot-on.

Final thoughts on comments I've read here and other places:
#1 - I would pay Apple EXTRA money to get my ESC key back.
#2 - You can get nearly any cable as USB-C to X. Don’t listen to this #donglelife garbage.
#3 - Keyboard is good. You’ll get used to it quickly; I do like it more than the Mid-2015 after only one day.

TLDR; If I return this in January, it will be because I couldn't adjust to the Touch Bar and living without physical Esc/Fn keys. It's a great machine. I wish it had a Touch Screen, à la the iPad.

Funny, all this describes my 2015 15" Macbook Pro as well.
