Is this right? It just looks like a blank sheet of paper. If so, how can I fix this problem?
Yosemite doesn't use a sites favicon when creating desktop shortcuts.
You'll have to find a suitable icon file, then follow the procedure described in this thread:
That's a bug, it happens in more applications than just Safari. It cleared up for me after doing a clean 10.10.2 install.
Should look like this; (screenshot from 10.10.3 Beta 4)
That's what I thought it was suppose to look like. Is there a way to manually fix this? It's been driving me nuts.
Just out of curiosity, what happens when you right+click on one of these blank desktop icons and do a get info.
Still just a blank page icon? now try selecting the small icon at the top of the info window and then hit the delete key.
Report any changes please.
Not that I've found. Worse than that, an update to 10.10.2 doesn't fix it, but a clean install does from what I've observed.
I don't know about 10.10.3 however, because I no longer had the problem when I updated.
Here is another thread BTW, not resolved however.
Tried that and it didn't do anything.
