Yeah my screen just randomly popped out of its edges yesterday, still works though... so in your opinion what would you do?

**UPDATE** My Apple care on my S0 ended on January 2018 {womp womp} they wanted $199 to repair... so chincy a** tape job until S4 release. Maybe I will match it to my iPhone X Plus, or whatever it will be called

No, it's not worth it. Best to get a 3 or wait for the 4 which may come out quite soon.

If it's under warranty I would try to get it replaced, as you'll get the series 1 version as replacement.
If it becomes a hassle I would just wait for the series 4.

Swollen battery. If you have a warranty, get it fixed. If not, a third party repair shop can do it a LOT cheaper than Apple will charge. My battery swelled up and a (reputable) local shop here did it for $60 (with a 1 year warranty) after I got a $199 quote from Apple. If nothing else and you want to upgrade, at least you have a watch you can sell or give to someone that actually works and looks right.

I would at least present your problem to Apple and see what they have to tell you, they may cover it once they have a chance to inspect the watch. Otherwise, if they quote you a repair fee, then consider upgrading as another option.

Apple replaced my series 0 a month or two ago for nothing when the screen came off.. their rep logged it as a back case detachment on their system. Which is on a warranty extension.

I think it was caused by a swollen battery as it happens. The replacement had way better battery.

If you bought your watch in January 2016, then you are covered for this problem until January 2019 because the "screen popping out" issue that you are experiencing is supposed to be subject to an Apple extended warranty campaign. You need to remind the Apple support person that this specific problem is warrantied by Apple for 3 years.

Its most likely a swollen battery, but some Apple Watches were having issues with the adhesive separating from the display without having battery issues. I Would in the least have Apple check the battery to determine if the swelling is the defect or not, which would warrant a replacement.

According to the article I linked, the extended warranty I'm referring to isn't related to the swollen battery. However, there is also another (but separate) extended campaign for swollen batteries too, which I assume is what are referring to. So the cause of the separate shouldn't matter, battery or not, as either way they are both covered.

Weird. I was in the same situation last week. Made a "genius" appointment and showed them the watch. Diagnosis: swollen battery pushed out the back of the case. The watch wasn't under warranty, but the guy instantly processed a replacement under what he called Apple's "quality program" (he was very clear that this wasn't a warranty situation). I didn't even push for a replacement, he just did it.

They gave me a shiny new S0, which was nice of them...except I was kinda hoping for a series 1, because I'd read that others in this situation received the S1 as a replacement. Just to be clear, I'm not complaining, at all...the thing works fine (even though it's really slow), and the battery life is a heck of a lot better than my old watch. Apple absolutely didn't have to give me a new (old) watch, but they did it anyway. I can't figure out why they'd do it for me, but not for you. Very strange.
