Not that my thoughts are particularly important, but just wanted to share 🙂
Apple really did create a beautiful device.
I think people should stop jumping to black or white conclusions about the phone before using it themselves, because I really wasn't that crazy excited about this phone before seeing it person, but it was really difficult not to ask if they were any in stock after using it in person.
Also, to those who preordered and have a delivery date of 2-6 weeks, live near an Apple Store, and can buy it outright or on IUP, just cancel your preorder. I was at the Apple Store an hour and a half after it opened and it seemed like people were getting new iPhone X's pretty easily. No point in waiting 4-6 weeks when Apple Stores are getting new inventory daily.
- Wow, it feels great. The glass on the front curving into the metal and into the glass in the back feels soooo good. I actually like that it's thicker too. It's more comfortable to hold in the hand. The X feels so much better than any of the 6-8 series imo.
- The white version does seem to have a tiny sharp edge on the transition from the metal to the back glass, which I didn't feel on the Space Grey.
- I thought I'd like the Space Grey better, but I now much prefer the white. That white back just looks stunning, and there's no compromise (AKA a white bezel on the front).
- I originally preferred Samsung's approach to the "no bezels" trend, but the iPhone X is now my favorite easily. Having the entire front face of the phone just be screen (minus the notch), really is something.
- The notch complaints are so overplayed imo. You barely notice it's there and it's so much better than having a straight black bezel across the top of the phone. The notch allows the screen to extend across the entire front of the phone.
- The "blue shift" that occurs when you view OLED displays from the side really isn't a big deal, at least to me. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
- It's truly amazing to see how much screen is added from the bezels that were taken away. I know the bezels are large on my 7, but I didn't realize they took up that much room.
- I was going to wait for a larger + version of the phone, but I'm second guessing that now. With so much screen added due to the reduced bezels and the phone being basically the same size as the 6/7/8, it strikes a really nice balance between a large screen and a body that is great to use one-handed.
- My iPhone 7 now instantly looks outdated to me. It still works like new, but these bezels and the smaller screen.. 🙁
- My only disappointment was the screen brightness. To have such a nice large display that covers nearly the entire front face of the device, but not get bright enough (in my opinion) was disappointing. You have this beautiful, sharp display with incredible contrast now, but I couldn't even really enjoy it and tell that much of a difference while in store because it didn't get bright enough against the outside and indoor lights.
