I hope to see atleast a faster processor and more RAM at the very least.

I believe this because as a lot of other folks have mentioned in other threads such as this, the iPhone is still running with technology 2 years old correct?

I think its time for a little boost!

:)

Hopefully the multi-core idea will be incorporated soon. Maybe not this next version, but soon.

Yea, ya know, who knows what Apple is doing with the PA Semi bunch? All this talk of multi-cores and all, I wouldn't put it past them to incorporate that chip in the next version just so they could say they really kicked things off before we start seeing all of these A9 chipsets near the end of the year or early 2010.

Meh..., I'm getting an iPhone in June/July so maybe it's just wishful/hopeful thinking that this would happen for me.

I've been waiting long enough though (2 years) so I'll be happy with whatever. ;)

I agree, but I think some of the 2G owners held off upgrading to the 3G because they were wanting a more major revision. If you think about it, all that was changed about the iPhone last revision was the 3G chip addition and case redesign. The rest was software.

I guess the only phones that would seem worthy competitors for those ending their 2G iPhone contracts would be the Storm, G1, or another Blackberry. There is also the possibility that the Palm Pre or a new Android phone will hit the market around the same time as others have said.

that was my thinking in not upgrading to the 3G.

As for other phones, no thanks. I love the iphone's tight integration with my mac and I now have several 3rd party apps that I'm not about to give up. If thew new iphone isn't impressive enough I'll just stick with what I got.

Yeah I'd stick with the iPhone too but I was just listing some of the other more worthy iPhone competitors.

Hopefully the summer revision will be worth the upgrade. :)

idk who said it, but how can you say "oh all apple did was add a 3g chip and change the casing". Um that gave them the ability to bring their phones worldwide and also use the fastest phone network out now. No other selling point could be used. Its already a touch screen and does games. longer battery and bigger harddrive wont bring that many people back. they will have to offer a special price for exisiting iphone buyers.
