I have a question about Time Machine.

Say my computer was totalled, but I had my important files backed up in my USB external drive which Time Machine on my Leopard uses to back things up.
In that case, can I just connect my external to anyone's Leopard installed mac and extract those files?

Thanks.

Yes. You can access those files from any Mac, but not through TM, you have to use Finder.

Incorrect. If you click the Time Machine icon in the menu and hold the Alt (Option) key, you can use Time Machine to browse and restore files from any Time Machine drive.

I just recently learned of this feature as well. I was forced to send my MacBook Pro in for service to have almost every part replaced (except the screen, enclosure, and DVD drive).
